Designed for experienced operators, this 1-day CSCS Tractor Dozer Course allows professionals to achieve formal recognition of their skills through SOLAS-approved certification.
Through a combination of classroom-based instruction and practical assessments, participants will demonstrate their knowledge and competence in safe and effective dozer operations, aligned with Irish construction safety regulations.
Course Overview
The CSCS Tractor Dozer Training Course is tailored for experienced operators seeking to gain a QQI Level 5 Certificate and CSCS card for Tractor Dozer operation.
The course includes a classroom session covering core operational knowledge, followed by two assessments.
This assessment-based training ensures that experienced participants meet the national standard for safe machine operation, in compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
Participants will demonstrate knowledge and competency in:
- Safe operation and maneuvering of a tractor dozer
- Understanding ground conditions and stability
- Operating on inclines, uneven terrain, and near excavations
- Effective use of the dozer blade for grading and pushing materials
- Awareness of hazards and proper risk management procedures
- Daily maintenance checks and safe shutdown procedures
- Compliance with site safety protocols and regulations
Training Requirements
To be eligible for the CSCS Tractor Dozer Assessment Course, candidates must:
- Have a minimum of 6 months’ experience operating a tractor dozer (within the last 2 years), in accordance with the 4th Schedule of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013)
- Hold a valid SOLAS Safe Pass Card
- Have completed the CSCS Candidate Pack or hold a valid New Entrant CSCS Trainee Card with completed Log Book
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Provide 1 x Passport Photo
- Provide a PPS Number
- Bring their own PPE: Hard Hat, High-Vis Vest, Steel Toe-Capped Boots, and Gloves
